A new colleague at the NDPC: Elīna Bresle, Arts & Health Specialist

We are delighted to announce that Elīna Bresle has been joining us on August 18th in the role of Arts & Health Specialist/Project Manager!

Elīna is from Lavia and lives in Greater Copenhagen, Denmark. She brings to NDPC experience across public health, arts, and the intersection of the two, working in both research and project management, with a particular focus on cross-sector collaboration and the role of arts and culture in promoting wellbeing among vulnerable populations. With her academic background and professional experience in public health, she hopes to bring a perspective that can help to further support the dialogues between the sectors in a meaningful way.

Elīna: “Over the years, I have seen the Arts and Health field grow from grassroots initiatives into new opportunities for cultural institutions to become meaningful partners in public health.  My hope is to contribute to this continued building of bridges between the arts and health and a community where experts can learn from and strengthen one another, while preserving what makes each unique and valuable. I wish to see this field grow into one where collaborations are not only supported by policies and funding, but also by spaces for dialogue and building understanding that allow both fields to work together without reducing the value of either to the priorities or language of the other.”
