Project “CircularPlace: Culture and Creative Industries, Circular Economy and Place” has successfully concluded
We are glad to annouce that the Interreg Baltic Seed Money supported project “CircularPlace: Culture and Creative Industries, Circular Economy and Place” has successfully concluded.
The aim of the project has been to explore the synergetic potential of these three fields crucial for the Baltic Sea Region’s transition to a circular model of production and consumption. Specifically, this project proposes that for the circular transition to succeed, it must engage consumers/citizens as active participants. This engagement is made possible by culture and creative sector and industries, which have both economic and societal roles.
The project has been carried out as planned in a partnership led by Danish Cultural Institute (DK) with Goethe-Institut (DE), Northern Dimension Partnership for Culture Secretariat (LV), Let’s Do It World NGO (EE) and Pomorskie Voivodeship (PL) from October 2020 to September 2021.
Project partners made a mapping study of all BSR countries to identify the situation in the field, relying both on a desktop study of strategic documents and interviews with relevant players, stakeholders and experts. As the field involving CCIs, Circular Economy and Place-making is still emerging, the research reflects a still-existing ambiguity in understanding of the field and terminology in various national languages in BSR. Nevertheless, the resulting State-of-play report provides an overview of the situation in BSR as well as produces insights to the particular situation in each BSR country.
The conclusions and analysis made on the basis of the State-of-play report have been discussed among the project partners, as well as presented to a group of BSR stakeholders representing most BSR countries at an online workshop in September 2021.
