A new Nordic-Baltic network to strengthen cultural intermediaries and cross-sector collaborations

NDPC has joined forces with partners from Sweden, Finland, and Denmark in the new Nordic-Baltic Cross-Sector Brokering Network, a one-year initiative dedicated to strengthening the role of cultural intermediaries and building greater recognition for their contribution to society.
The project will run from September 2026 to August 2027.
About the project
Cultural intermediaries connect artists, cultural actors, public authorities, businesses, communities, and other sectors. They help create partnerships that address societal challenges through culture, including sustainability, innovation, wellbeing, and community development. The project aims to build a stronger community of practice, increase recognition of intermediary work, and develop policy recommendations for future support mechanisms.
Main activities
The project focuses on the development of a shared framework for understanding the intermediary role in cross-sectoral partnerships, with the production of final policy recommendations for funders and policymakers. In the network, NDPC will host two online labs and the final policy event, helping connect cultural intermediaries with policymakers and regional stakeholders and ensuring project results contribute to policy development across the region.
All foreseen activities include:
- Two international partner meetings in Finland and Sweden.
- Four online Cross-Sectoral Brokering Labs with open access.
- A digital networking hub and knowledge platform.
- An open-access Intermediary’s Playbook.
- A policy brief and final online launch event to support further developments.
Project duration
September 2026 to August 2027
